Khalid ibn Makhlad narrated to us, from Sulayman ibn Bilal, who said: Sharik ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Namir narrated to me, from al-A'sha ibn Abd al-Rahman, from Mukammil, from Azhar ibn Abdullah, who said: 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit came for Hajj from al-Sham and arrived in Medina. He came to 'Uthman ibn 'Affan and said: "O 'Uthman, shall I not tell you something I heard from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him?" He said: "Yes." I said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying: 'There will be upon you rulers who will command you with what you recognize [as good] and will do what you disapprove of. So, there is no obedience to those [in such matters].'"
