Hadith 37:62
Abdullah ibn Numayr narrated to us, from al-A’mash, who said: Dirar ibn Murrah narrated to me, from Abdullah ibn Hanzalah, who said: Hudhayfah said: There is no man except that he has a "ummah" (a flaw/stain) that the fingernail defiles, except for two men. One of them has emerged (passed away), and the other is in a state of contention. As for the one who has emerged, it is Umar. As for the one who is in a state of contention, it is Ali.
حدثنا عبد الله بن نمير عن الأعمش قال حدثني ضرار بن مرة عن عبد الله بن حنظلة قال قال حذيفة ما من رجل إلا به أمة ينجسها الظفر إلا رجلين أحدهما قد برز والآخر فيه منازعة فأما الذي برز فعمر وأما الذي فيه منازعة فعلي
