Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 37:629

Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, he said: Abu Ubaydah informed us, from al-Hasan, who said: "Indeed, this authority is the rope of Allah, a helper for the servants of Allah and His religion. So how is it for one who rides unjustly over the servants of Allah and takes the servants of Allah as slaves, judging regarding their blood and their wealth however they wish? By Allah, if anyone were to refrain—by Allah, no nation has encountered after its Prophet the trials and humiliation that this nation has encountered after its Prophet."
