Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 22:134

Al-Fadl ibn Dukayn narrated to us, he said: Bashir ibn al-Muhajir narrated to us, he said: Abdullah ibn Buraydah narrated to me, from his father, who said: I was with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and I heard him say: "The Quran will meet its companion on the Day of Resurrection, when his grave splits open for him, like a pale man. It will say to him: 'Do you recognize me?' He will say: 'I do not recognize you.' It will say to him: 'I am your companion, the Quran, which made you thirsty during your day and kept you awake during your night. And every merchant is behind his trade, and you today are behind every trade.'" He said: "Then sovereignty will be given to his right hand, and eternity to his left, and a crown of dignity will be placed upon his head. His parents will be clothed in two garments that the people of the world cannot equal. They will say: 'Why have we been clothed with this?' It will be said to them: 'Because your child took hold of the Quran.'" Then it will be said to him: "Read and ascend in the levels of Paradise and its chambers." He will be in a state of ascent as long as he reads, whether he reads quickly or slowly (with tartil).
