Hadith 22:135

Zayd ibn al-Hubab narrated to us, he said: Musa ibn Ubaydah al-Rabadhi narrated to us, he said: Sa’id ibn Abi Sa’id al-Maqburi narrated to us, from Uthman ibn al-Hakam, from Ka’b, that he said: The Quran will be represented to the one who used to act upon it in the world on the Day of Resurrection in the most beautiful form he has ever seen, the most beautiful in face, and the most pleasant in scent. It will stand beside its companion, and whenever a terror comes to him, it will calm his terror and soothe him, and it will expand his hope for him. He will say to it: "May Allah reward you with good as a companion; how beautiful is your form and how pleasant is your scent!" It will say to him: "Do you not recognize me? Come, ride me, for you have long ridden me in the world. I am your deed; if your deed was good, you see my form as beautiful, and if it was pleasant, you see my scent as pleasant." Then it will carry him and bring him before the Lord, Blessed and Exalted is He. It will say: "O Lord, this is so-and-so," and He knows him better than it does. "I kept him occupied during his days in his life in the world; I made his day thirsty and his night sleepless, so grant me intercession for him." Then the crown of kingship will be placed upon his head, and he will be clothed in the garment of kingship. It will say: "O Lord, I used to desire for him more than this, and I hoped for him from You something better than this." So he will be given eternity in his right hand and grace in his left hand. He will say: "O Lord, every merchant has attained his hope from his trade," so he will intercede for his relatives. And if he was a disbeliever, his deed will be represented to him in the ugliest form he has ever seen and the most foul-smelling. Whenever a terror comes to him, it will increase his terror. He will say: "May Allah make you ugly as a companion; how ugly is your form and how foul is your scent!" It will say: "Do you not recognize me? I am your deed; if your deed was ugly, you see my form as ugly, and if it was foul, you see my scent as foul." It will say: "Come, ride me, for you have long ridden me in the world." So he will ride it, and it will bring him before Allah, and He will not establish any weight for him.
