Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 22:138

Ghundar narrated to us, from Shu'bah, from 'Amr ibn Murrah, from Mujahid, that he said: The Qur'an will intercede for its companion on the Day of Resurrection. It will say: "O Lord, I placed him in his interior, so I kept his night awake and prevented him from many of his desires, and for every worker there is a wage for his work." It will be said to him: "Extend your hand." He said: So it will be filled with the pleasure of Allah, and He will never be angry with him after it. Then it will be said to him: "Read and ascend." He said: So for every verse, a degree will be raised for him, and for every verse, a good deed will be added to him.
