Waki’ narrated to us, from Isra’il, from Jabir, from ‘Amir, who said: A man wrote a Mushaf (copy of the Quran), and he wrote the explanation (tafsir) of every verse alongside it. ‘Umar called for it and cut it up with a pair of shears.
