Abu al-Ahwas narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid, who said: I saw Abdullah erase the *Mu'awwidhatayn* (the two chapters of seeking refuge) from his copies of the Mushaf. And he said: "Do not mix into it that which is not from it."
