Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 22:96

Husayn ibn Ali narrated to us, from Hamzah al-Zayyat, from Abu al-Mukhtar al-Ta’i, from the nephew of al-Harith al-A’war, from al-Harith, from Ali, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "The Book of Allah contains the news of what was before you, the information of what is after you, and the judgment of what is between you. It is the decisive word, not a jest. It is that which desires do not cause to deviate, and which scholars do not become satiated with. It does not wear out from frequent repetition, and its wonders do not come to an end. It is that which, whoever among the tyrants abandons it, Allah will break him; and whoever seeks guidance in other than it, Allah will lead him astray. It is the firm rope of Allah, the wise reminder, and the straight path. It is that which, whoever acts by it will be rewarded, whoever judges by it will be just, and whoever calls to it will be guided to a straight path. Take it to yourself, O A’war."
