Hadith 27:110

Waki' narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Wahid, from his father, from Jabir, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to deliver the sermon leaning against a date-palm trunk. A woman from the Ansar said to him: "O Messenger of Allah, I have a young carpenter slave; shall I order him to make a pulpit for you?" He said: "Yes." So, a pulpit was made. When it was the day of Friday, he delivered the sermon from the pulpit. He said: The trunk that he used to stand against groaned like the moaning of a child. The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "This has wept because of what it lost of the remembrance (of Allah)."
