Hadith 27:111
Abu Usama narrated to us, from Mujalid, from Abu al-Wadak, from Abu Sa’id, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to deliver the sermon leaning against a tree trunk. A Roman man came to him and said, "Shall I make for you a pulpit upon which you may deliver the sermon?" So he made for him this pulpit which you see. When he stood upon it to deliver the sermon, the trunk moaned like the moaning of a she-camel for its young. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) descended to it and embraced it, so it became silent. Then he ordered that a hole be dug for it and it be buried.
