Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 27:136

Mu'awiyah ibn 'Amr narrated to us, he said: Za'idah ibn Qudamah narrated to us, from Mansur, from Muslim, from Masruq, who said: The companions of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace)—or whoever among them Allah willed—said: "O Messenger of Allah, it is not befitting for us to be separated from you in the world, for if you were to die, you would be raised above us and we would not see you." So Allah revealed: "And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger - those will be with the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favor of the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs and the righteous. And excellent are those as companions."
