Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 27:205

Abu Mu’awiyah narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from al-Minhal, from Sa’id ibn Jubayr and from ‘Abdullah ibn al-Harith, from Ibn ‘Abbas, who said: When Musa came to his people and commanded them regarding Zakat, Qarun gathered them and said: "This man has come to you with fasting, prayer, and things you can endure, but do you bear to give him your wealth?" They said: "We do not bear to give him our wealth, so what do you suggest?" He said: "I suggest that we send for a prostitute of the Children of Israel and command her to accuse him before the leaders and the people, claiming that he sought her for herself." They did so, and she accused Musa, peace be upon him, before the people. He prayed to Allah against them, and Allah the Exalted revealed to the earth: "Obey him." Musa, peace be upon him, said to it: "Take them." So it took them up to their knees. He said: "They began to say: 'O Musa, O Musa!' He said: 'Take them.'" So it took them up to their waists. They began to say: "O Musa, O Musa!" He said: "Take them." So it took them up to their necks. They began to say: "O Musa, O Musa!" He said: "So it took them and swallowed them up." Then Allah the Exalted revealed to Musa, peace be upon him: "O Musa, My servants asked of you and pleaded to you, but you refused to answer them. By My Might, had they called upon Me, I would have answered them."
