Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 27:215

Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Husayn, from Abdullah ibn Shaddad, who said: Solomon’s throne used to be placed upon the wind, as were the thrones of those whom he wished from among the jinn and mankind. He became in need of water, but they did not know its location. He inspected the birds at that time and did not find the hoopoe, so he threatened it. His punishment for it was to pluck its feathers and expose it to the sun. He said: When it arrived, the birds met it and said, "Solomon has threatened you." The hoopoe asked, "Did he make an exception?" They replied, "Yes, unless it brings an excuse." Its excuse was that it brought the news of the Queen of Sheba. He said: So he wrote to them: "Indeed, it is from Solomon, and indeed, it is: 'In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. Be not haughty with me but come to me in submission [as Muslims].'" He said: So Bilqis approached. When she was at a distance of a parasang, Solomon said, "Which of you will bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?" An 'ifrit from the jinn said, "I will bring it to you before you rise from your place, and indeed, I am, for this, strong and trustworthy." He said: He replied, "I want something faster than that." Then the one who had knowledge from the Scripture said, "I will bring it to you before your glance returns to you." He said: Mansur informed me, from Mujahid, that he entered into a tunnel beneath the earth and brought it to him. Solomon said, "Alter it." When she arrived, it was said to her, "Is your throne like this?" She began to recognize it and deny it, and she was amazed at its speed, saying, "It is as if it were it." It was said to her, "Enter the palace." When she saw it, she thought it was a body of water and uncovered her shins, and behold, she was a hairy woman. He said: Solomon asked, "What will remove this?" They replied, "Depilatory paste (nura)." He said: So depilatory paste was made on that day.
