Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 27:321

"There is no one who has favored us with his wealth more than Abu Bakr. And if I were to take a *khalil* (intimate friend), I would have taken Abu Bakr. But my brother, my companion, and [the one who is] upon my religion, and your companion, has already taken a *khalil*," meaning himself.
