Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 27:350

Hussain bin Ali narrated to us, from Za'idah, from Abdul Malik, from Zaid bin Wahb, who said: Abdullah said: "I do not think there is a household among the Muslims upon whom sadness did not enter the day Umar was struck, except for a household of evil. Indeed, Umar was the most knowledgeable of us regarding Allah, the most proficient of us in reciting the Book of Allah, and the most understanding of us in the religion of Allah."
