Waki’ narrated to us, from Salamah ibn Wardan, who said: I heard Anas saying: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to his companions: "Whoever among you attends a funeral?" Umar said: "I." He said: "Whoever among you visits a sick person?" Umar said: "I." He said: "Whoever among you gives charity?" Umar said: "I." He said: "Whoever among you wakes up fasting?" Umar said: "I." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "It has become incumbent, it has become incumbent."
