Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 27:408

Ubayd Allah ibn Musa narrated to us, he said: Musa ibn Ubaydah informed me, from Iyas ibn Salamah, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) pledged allegiance for Uthman with one of his hands over the other. The people said: "Congratulations to Abu Abd Allah, he is circumambulating the House in safety." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "If he were to remain for such and such years, he would not circumambulate until I circumambulate."
