'Abd al-Rahim narrated to us, from Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid, from 'Amir, who said: When Ja'far arrived from the land of Abyssinia, 'Umar ibn al-Khattab met Asma' bint 'Umays and said to her: "We have preceded you in the migration, and we are better than you." She said: "I will not return until I come to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace." So she entered upon him and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I met 'Umar, and he claimed that he is better than us and that they preceded us in the migration." The Prophet of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Rather, you have migrated twice." Isma'il said: Sa'id ibn Abi Burdah narrated to me, saying: She said to 'Umar on that day: "It is not as you say. We were driven away in the land of hatred and distant people, while you were with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who would admonish your ignorant ones and feed your hungry ones."
