Hadith 27:58
Abdullah ibn Numayr narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us, from Hakim ibn Hakim, from Ali ibn Abd al-Rahman, from Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went out to the Harrah of Banu Mu'awiyah, and I followed his tracks until he appeared upon it. He prayed the Duha (forenoon) prayer, eight rak'ahs, in which he prolonged them. Then he turned away and said: "O Hudhayfah, I have prolonged them for you." I said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "I asked Allah for three things in them; He granted me two and withheld one from me. I asked Him that no one other than them (the Muslims) should prevail over my Ummah, and He granted it to me. I asked Him that He should not destroy them by years (famine/drought), and He granted it to me. And I asked Him that He should not make their might (fighting/conflict) among themselves, and He withheld it from me."
