Hadith 27:73

Hatim ibn Isma'il narrated to us, from Anis ibn Abi Yahya, from Ishaq ibn Salim, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out to me one day and said: "Call for me your companions," meaning the People of the Bench (Ahl al-Suffah). So I began to follow them, man by man, waking them up until I had gathered them. We came to the door of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and asked for permission, and he gave us permission. Abu Hurayrah said: A platter was placed before us containing the contents of a pot of a mudd of barley. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) placed his hand upon it and said: "Take, in the name of Allah." So we ate as much as we wished, then we lifted our hands. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said when the platter was placed: "By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, there is no food in the family of Muhammad this evening other than what you see." It was said to Abu Hurayrah: "How much was it when you finished?" He said: "The same as it was when it was placed, except that there were the marks of fingers in it."
