Yahya ibn Ishaq narrated to us, he said: Yahya ibn Ayyub informed us, from Yazid ibn Abi Habib, that Abd al-Rahman ibn Shamasa al-Mahri informed him, from Zayd ibn Thabit, who said: While we were around the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) compiling the Quran from the parchments, he said: "Glad tidings to Al-Sham." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah, and why is that? And why is that?" He said: "Indeed, the angels of the Most Merciful spread their wings over it."
