Muhammad ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, he said: Abu al-Jarash narrated to us, from Zayd ibn Muhammad, he said: I was on a military expedition with Maslamah ibn Abd al-Malik against the Turks. The messengers of the Khagan threatened him and wrote to him: "I will certainly meet you at the *Hazawarat* (gathering place/arena) of the Turks." Maslamah wrote back to him: "You will meet me at the *Hazawarat* of the Turks, and I will meet you at the *Hazawarat* of the Arabs," meaning Qays.
