Hadith 27:85
Ubaydah ibn Humayd narrated to us, from al-Aswad ibn Qays, from Nabih ibn Abdullah al-Anazi, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: We traveled with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and the time for prayer arrived. A man came with a remainder of water in a small vessel and poured it into a cup. He said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) performed ablution. Then the people came to the remainder of the purification water and said, "Wipe yourselves, wipe yourselves." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) heard them and said, "Take your time." He said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) struck his hand into the cup, into the midst of the water, then said, "Perform the ablution thoroughly." Jabir ibn Abdullah said: By the One who took away my sight—and his sight had indeed been taken away—I saw the water coming out from between the fingers of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). He did not lift his hand until they had all performed ablution. Al-Aswad said: I think he said, "We were two hundred or more."
