Hadith 25:170
Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Sufyan said: If he bequeaths things and says, "Free [slaves] on my behalf," then it is by shares. And if he bequeaths and says, "So-and-so is free," then the manumission is begun with.
حدثنا وكيع قال قال سفيان إذا أوصى بأشياء وقال اعتقوا عني فبالحصص وإذا أوصى فقال فلان حر بدئ بالعتاقة
