Hadith 25:198
Ibn ‘Uyaynah narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from ‘Amir ibn Sa‘d, from his father, that he said: He became ill with an illness from which he was near death. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came to visit him. He said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have much wealth, and no one inherits from me except a daughter of mine. Shall I give two-thirds as charity?" He said: "No." He said: "The half?" He said: "No." I said: "Then the third?" He said: "The third, and the third is much."
حدثنا بن عيينة عن الزهري عن عامر بن سعد عن أبيه أنه قال مرض مرضا أشفى منه فأتاه النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يعوده فقال يا رسول الله إن لي مالا كثيرا وليس يرثني إلا ابنة لي أفأتصدق بالثلثين قال لا قال الشطر قال لا قلت فالثلث قال الثلث والثلث كثير
