Hadith 25:219

Ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Habib, who said: I and al-Hakam went to Sa’id ibn Jubayr, and I asked him about the saying of the Exalted: "And let those [executors and guardians] fear [injustice] as if they [themselves] had left behind weak offspring and feared for them," up to His saying: "and let them speak a word of appropriate justice." He said: It is the person who is approached by death, so the one who is present with him says to him: "Fear Allah, and give them [your wealth], join them, and be kind to them." If they were the ones whom he is commanding to make a bequest, they would love for [the wealth] to remain for their children. So we came to Miqsam and asked him, and he said: "It is not as Sa’id said." We said: "It is such and such." He said: "No, but it is the man who is approached by death, and it is said to him: 'Fear Allah, and hold onto your wealth, for there is no one more entitled to your wealth than your child.' And if the one who is bequeathing had relatives, they would love for him to bequeath to them."
