Hadith 25:274
'Abbad narrated to us, from Husayn, from al-Sha'bi, who said: I heard al-Nu'man ibn Bashir saying: My father gave me a gift, so my mother, 'Amrah bint Rawahah, said: "I will not be satisfied until you have the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) bear witness to it." So he came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I gave a gift to the son of 'Amrah, and she commanded me to have you bear witness to it." He said: "Did you give all of your children the like of this?" He said: "No." He said: "Fear Allah and act justly among your children." He said: So he returned and took back his gift.
حدثنا عباد عن حصين عن الشعبي قال سمعت النعمان بن بشير يقول أعطاني أبي عطية فقالت أمي عمرة ابنة رواحة فلا أرضى حتى تشهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فأتى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال يا رسول الله إني اعطيت بن عمرة عطية فأمرتني أن أشهدك فقال أعطيت كل ولدك مثل هذا قال لا قال اتقوا الله واعدلوا بين أولادكم قال فرجع فرد عطيته
