Hadith 25:61
Mu'tamir narrated to us, from his father, from al-Hasan, regarding a man who bequeaths to distant relatives and leaves out close relatives: He said: "His bequest should be divided into three thirds; two-thirds for the close relatives and one-third for the distant relatives." As for Muhammad ibn Ka'b, he said: "It is merely wealth that Allah has given him, which he places wherever he likes."
حدثنا معتمر عن أبيه عن الحسن في الرجل يوصي للأباعد ويترك الأقارب قال تجعل وصيته ثلاثة أثلاث للأقارب ثلثان وللأباعد ثلث وأما محمد بن كعب فقال إنما هو مال أعطاه الله يضعه حيث أحب
