Hadith 25:79
Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, Abu 'Asim al-Thaqafi narrated to us, he said: Ibrahim met me and said: "What do you say regarding a man who bequeathed his half, his third, and his quarter?" He said: I did not have anything regarding it. Ibrahim said: "Take a property for which there is a half, a third, and a quarter, which is twelve. Take its half, which is six; its third, which is four; and its quarter, which is three. Then divide the property by thirteen. Whatever corresponds to six shall be for the owner of the half, whatever corresponds to four shall be for the owner of the third, and whatever corresponds to three shall be for the owner of the quarter."
حدثنا أبو معاوية حدثنا أبو عاصم الثقفي قال لقيني إبراهيم فقال ما تقول في رجل أوصى بنصفه وثلثه وربعه قال فلم يكن عندي فيها شيء فقال إبراهيم خذ مالا له نصف وثلث وربع اثنا عشر فخذ نصفها ستة وثلثها أربعة وربعها ثلاثة فاقسم المال على ثلاثة عشر فما أصاب ستة كان لصاحب النصف وما أصاب أربعة كان لصاحب الثلث وما أصاب ثلاثة كان لصاحب الربع
