Hadith 5:187
'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, from Ma'mar, from Simak, from Ibn Shihab, from Malik, from Sa'id al-A'raj, who said: I went out intending to perform Jihad, and I met 'Umar in Makkah. He said: "Hasten to your companion," meaning Ya'la ibn Umayyah. I said: "No." He said: "Then return to your companion. And when you go out, and the man brings his sheep to you, divide them into two halves, then choose from the other half."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق عن معمر عن سماك عن بن شهاب عن مالك عن سعيد الأعرج قال خرجت أريد الجهاد فلقيت عمر بمكة فقال بادر صاحبك يعني يعلى بن أمية قال قلت لا قال فارجع إلى صاحبك فإذا خرجت أوقف ( ( ( وأوقف ) ) ) الرجل عليكم غنمه فاصدعوها صدعين ثم اختاروا من النصف الآخر
