Hadith 5:24
9825. Malik ibn Isma'il narrated to us, from Zuhayr, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu al-Ahwas, who said: If a beggar comes to one of you while he intends to pray—or he said: while he wants to pray—then if he is able to give charity, let him do so. For Allah says: "He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself and mentions the name of his Lord and prays." So if he is able to offer charity before his prayer, let him do so.
حدثنا مالك بن إسماعيل عن زهير عن أبي إسحاق عن أبي الأحوص قال إذا أتى أحدكم السائل وهو يريد الصلاة أو قال يريد أن يصلي فإن استطاع أن يتصدق فليفعل فإن الله يقول @QB@ قد أفلح من تزكى وذكر اسم ربه فصلى @QE@ 1 فإن استطاع أن يقدم بين يدي صلاته صدقة فليفعل
