Hadith 5:241
Humayd ibn Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Husayn, from Mutarrif, who said: I asked al-Hakam about alfalfa, cotton, and sesame seeds. He said: "There is nothing [i.e., no Zakat] upon them." Al-Hakam said: "According to what we have memorized from our companions, they used to say that there is nothing [i.e., no Zakat] upon any of these things, except for wheat, barley, dates, and raisins."
حدثنا حميد بن عبد الرحمن عن حصين عن مطرف قال سألت الحكم عن الفصافص ( 1 ) والأقطان والسماسم فقال ليس فيها شيء قال الحكم فيما حفظنا عن أصحابنا أنهم كانوا يقولون وليس في شيء من هذا شيء إلا في الحنطة والشعير والتمر والزبيب
