Hadith 5:412
Abu Usama narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from Ata, who said: A man brought the Zakat of his wealth to Ali. Ali said to him: "Do you take anything from our stipends (ata)?" He said: "No." Ali said: "We will not take anything from you. We do not combine against you that we do not give you [anything] and [yet] we take from you." So he ordered him to distribute it [himself].
حدثنا أبو أسامة عن بن جريج عن عطاء قال جاء رجل بزكاة ماله إلى علي فقال له علي تأخذ من عطائنا شيئا قال لا فقال لا نأخذ منك شيئا ما لا نجمع عليك أن لا نعطيك ونأخذ منك فأمره أن يقسمها
