Hadith 5:553
Hafs ibn Ghiyath narrated to us, from al-Dahhak ibn Uthman, from Nafi’, from Ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) obligated Sadaqat al-Fitr as a sa’ of dates or a sa’ of barley. He said: And Ibn Umar used to give it on behalf of those he supported among his wives and the slaves of his wives, except for two slaves who were mukatab (under a contract of manumission), for he would not give it on their behalf.
حدثنا حفص بن غياث عن الضحاك بن عثمان عن نافع عن بن عمر قال فرض رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم صدقة الفطر صاعا من تمر أو صاعا من شعير قال وكان بن عمر يعطيه عمن يعول من نسائه ومماليك نسائه إلا عبدين كانا مكاتبين فإنه لم يكن يعطي عنهما
