Hadith 5:608
Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, he said: Habib ibn Abi Habib informed us, from ‘Amr ibn Haram, from Jabir ibn Zayd, who said: He was asked about charity, in whom is it placed? He said: "In the people of poverty among the Muslims and the people of their covenant (dhimmah)." And he said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to distribute from the charity and the khums (one-fifth) among the people of the covenant."
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال أخبرنا حبيب بن أبي حبيب عن عمرو بن هرم عن جابر بن زيد قال سئل عن الصدقة في من توضع فقال في أهل المسكنة من المسلمين وأهل ذمتهم وقال وقد كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه ( ( ( يقيم ) ) ) وسلم يقسم في أهل الذمة من الصدقة والخمس
