Hadith 5:677
Jarir ibn Abd al-Hamid narrated to us, from Mansur, from Mujahid, regarding the saying of the Exalted: "And give its due on the day of its harvest." He said: When you harvest it and the poor are present with you, you throw some of it to them. When you thresh it, you throw some of it to them. When you pile it up, you throw some of it to them. When you clean it and begin to measure it, you scoop some of it for them. When you know its measurement, you set aside its Zakat. When you begin the harvesting of the date palms, you throw to them from the scattered dates and the dates. When you begin to measure it, you scoop some of it for them. حدثنا جرير بن عبد الحميد عن منصور عن مجاهد في قوله تعالى @QB@ وآتوا حقه يوم حصاده @QE@ قال إذا حصدته فحضرك المساكين طرحت لهم منه وإذا طيبته طرحت لهم منه وإذا كدسته طرحت لهم وإذا نقيته وأخذت في كيله حثوت لهم منه وإذا علمت كيله عزلت زكاته وإذا أخذت في جذاذ النخل طرحت لهم من التفاريق والتمر وإذا أخذت في كيله حثوت لهم منه وإذا علمت كيله عزلت زكاته
