Hadith 5:703
Abu Khalid al-Ahmar narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from Ibrahim, and from Dawud, from Abu al-‘Aliyah, that Abu Usamah gave a horse of his to be used in the way of Allah. Then he saw it afterwards while it was being sold. He said: So I said to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, (about it), and I knew his determination (to forbid it), so he forbade me from it.
حدثنا أبو خالد الأحمر عن الأعمش عن إبراهيم وعن داود عن أبي العالية أن أبا أسامة حمل على مهر له في سبيل الله فرآه بعد ذلك وهو يباع قال فقلت للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قد عرفت عزمه فنهاني عنه
