Hadith 5:720
Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Hanzala, from Mujahid and 'Ata, who both said: Wealth is not a treasure (kanz) if its Zakat is paid, even if it is under the earth. And if its Zakat is not paid, it is a treasure (kanz), even if it is on the surface of the earth.
حدثنا بن فضيل عن حنظلة عن مجاهد وعطاء قالا ليس المال بكنز إذا أدي زكاته وإن كان تحت الأرض وإن كان لا يؤدى زكاته فهو كنز وان كان على وجه الأرض
