Hadith 5:740
Waki’ narrated to us, from Ibn ‘Awn, from Ibn Sirin, from Umm al-Ra’ij bint Sulayh, from her paternal uncle Salman ibn ‘Amir al-Dabbi, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Charity given to someone who is not a relative is charity, and [charity given] to a relative is two things: charity and maintaining ties of kinship." Abu Bakr said: And I heard Waki’ mentioning from Sufyan that he said: "He should not give it to someone whose maintenance is obligatory upon him."
حدثنا وكيع عن بن عون عن بن سيرين عن أم الرائج ( ( ( الرائح ) ) ) بنت صليح ( ( ( صليع ) ) ) عن عمها سلمان بن عامر الضبي قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم الصدقة على غير ذي الرحم صدقة وعلى ذي الرحم اثنتان صدقة وصلة قال أبو بكر وسمعت وكيعا يذكر عن سفيان أنه قال لا يعطها من تجب عليه نفقته
