Hadith 5:758
Abu Dawud and Ghundar narrated to us, from Shu'bah, from Habib ibn Abd al-Rahman, who said: I heard Abd al-Rahman ibn Mas'ud say: Sahl ibn Abi Hathmah came to a gathering and narrated that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "When you estimate (the yield of dates), take (the zakat) and leave a third. If you do not find a third, then (leave) a fourth."
حدثنا أبو داود وغندر عن شعبة عن خبيب ( ( ( حبيب ) ) ) بن عبد الرحمن قال سمعت عبد الرحمن بن مسعود يقول جاء سهل بن أبي حثمة إلى مجلس فحدث أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال إذا خرصتم فخذوا ودعوا الثلث فإن لم تجدوا الثلث فالربع
