Hadith 5:761
Waki’ narrated to us, from Jarir ibn Hazim, from Qays ibn Sa’d, from Makhul, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Make it easy for the people regarding the estimation (of dates/crops). And in wealth, there is the *’ariyya* (gift of fruit on a tree) and the bequest." He said: The *’ariyya* is a palm tree that a man gives to another man in his orchard. And the bequest is a man making a bequest for the needy.
حدثنا وكيع عن جرير بن حازم عن قيس بن سعد عن مكحول قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم خفف على الناس في الخرص وان في المال العرية والوصية قال العرية النخلة يرعها الرجل في حائط الرجل والوصية الرجل يوصي بالوصية للمساكين
