Hadith 5:788
Waki’ narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Ghalib ibn Abi al-Hudhayl, from Ibrahim, who said: A Christian came to Umar and said, "Your governor collects the tithe (ushr) from me twice a year." Umar said, "Who are you?" He replied, "I am the Christian elder." Umar said, "And I am the monotheistic (Hanif) elder." Then he wrote to his governor that he should not collect the tithe more than once a year.
حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن غالب بن أبي الهذيل عن إبراهيم قال جاء نصراني إلى عمر فقال ان عاملك عشر في السنة مرتين فقال من أنت فقال أنا الشيخ النصراني فقال له عمر وأنا الشيخ الحنيف فكتب إلى عامله أن لا تعشر في السنة إلا مرة
