Hadith 5:793
Muhammad ibn Abd Allah al-Asadi narrated to us, he said: Mughaffal narrated to us, he said: I asked al-Zuhri about the saying of the Exalted: "Alms are only for the poor..." He said: The poor (al-fuqara') are those who are in their houses and do not ask [people]. And the needy (al-masakin) are those who go out and ask.
