Hadith 5:83
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abbad bin al-Awwam narrated to us, from Ubaydah, who said: I asked Ibrahim about a man who has one hundred dirhams and ten dinars. He said: "He pays zakat on the one hundred with two dirhams, and on the dinars with a quarter of a dinar." And he said: I asked al-Sha'bi, and he said: "He combines the greater with the lesser—or he said: the lesser with the greater—and when the zakat reaches [the threshold] in it, he pays zakat."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا عباد بن العوام عن عبيدة قال سألت إبراهيم عن رجل له مائة درهم وعشرة دنانير قال يزكي من المائة بدرهمين ومن الدنانير بربع دينار وقال سألت الشعبي فقال يحمل الأكثر على الأقل أو قال على الأكثر فإذا بلغت فيه الزكاة زكى
