Hadith 5:903
Waki’ and Abu Usamah narrated to us, from Thabit ibn Abi ‘Amarah, from an elder who was called Rabi’ah ibn Shayban, who said: I said to al-Hasan ibn ‘Ali, may Allah be pleased with them both: "What do you remember from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and what do you retain from him?" He said: "I took a date from the dates of the charity and chewed it. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: 'Indeed, charity is not lawful for us.'"
حدثنا وكيع وأبو أسامة عن ثابت بن أبي عمارة عن شيخ يقال له ربيعة بن شيبان قال قلت للحسن بن علي رضي الله عنهما ما تذكر عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وما تعقل عنه قال أخذت تمرة من تمر الصدقة فلكتها فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم إنا لا تحل لنا الصدقة
