Hadith 5:945
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Mu'adh ibn Mu'adh narrated to us, from Ash'ath, from al-Hasan, that he said: If there is wheat and barley in the land, and each one of them is less than five wasqs, but when he combines them, they amount to five wasqs or more, then there is charity (zakat) due upon them, because they are both crops. However, if there is wheat and raisins, and it does not reach five wasqs, then there is nothing due upon it until each type reaches five wasqs. If it reaches that, then there is a tenth (tithe) due upon it.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا معاذ بن معاذ عن أشعث عن الحسن أنه قال إذا كان في الأرض بر وشعير كل واحد منها أقل من خمسة أوساق فإذا جمعهما كان منهما خمسة أوساق أو أكثر كان فيهما الصدقة لأن كله زرع فإذا كان بر وزبيب وهو لا يبلغ خمسة أوساق فليس فيه شيء حتى يبلغ من كل صنف خمسة أوساق فإذا بلغ ففيه العشر
