Hadith 5:951
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from ‘Ata’, he said: I said to him: "If a man has nineteen dinars and he has nothing else, and the exchange rate is twelve or thirteen [dirhams] for them, is there Zakat due on them?" He said: "Yes, if they were—had they been exchanged—[equivalent to] two hundred dirhams." At that time, it was silver (al-wariq) and there was no gold.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا محمد بن بكر عن بن جريج عن عطاء قال قلت له لو كانت لرجل تسعة عشر دينارا ليس له غيرها والصرف اثني عشر أو ثلاثة عشر فيها ( ( ( أفيها ) ) ) صدقة قال نعم إذا كانت لو صرفت مائتي درهم إنما كان إذ ذاك الورق ولم يكن الذهب
