Hadith 5:964
Hatim ibn Isma'il narrated to us, from Ja'far, from his father, who said: 'Umar said, while he was in the sitting place between the grave and the pulpit: "I do not know how I should act regarding the Magians, for they are not People of the Book." 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) say: 'Treat them according to the practice of the People of the Book.'"
حدثنا حاتم بن إسماعيل عن جعفر عن أبيه قال قال عمر وهو في مجلس بين القبر والمنبر ما أدري كيف أصنع بالمجوس وليسوا بأهل كتاب فقال عبد الرحمن بن عوف سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول سنوا بهم سنة أهل الكتاب
