Muhammad ibn Bahr narrated to us, Mubarak ibn Suhaym ibn Abdullah al-Shaybani narrated to us, Abd al-Aziz ibn Suhayb narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The Children of Israel split into seventy-one sects, and my nation will split into seventy-two sects; all of them are in the Fire except the Sawad al-A'zam (the greatest multitude)." Muhammad ibn Bahr said: Meaning the Jama'ah (the main body).
